XYCue Privacy Policy

Overview

XYCue is a mobile utility application from XYCue Studio. It provides tools such as a spirit level, bullseye level, angle measurement, calibration, and measurement locking.

XYCue does not require a user account. This policy explains what information may be handled when you use the app and the choices available to you.

Device sensor information

XYCue uses device motion and orientation sensor readings to provide leveling and angle-measurement functionality. Sensor information is used to provide app functionality, and XYCue does not intentionally use these measurements to identify you.

Normal measurement and calibration values are processed locally on your device unless an underlying platform or SDK behavior documented elsewhere requires disclosure.

Local application data

XYCue may save preferences locally on your device, including:

• calibration values;
• measurement preferences and tolerance settings;
• theme preference;
• haptic and sound preferences;
• app configuration; and
• purchase or ad-free entitlement state, where applicable.

Local data generally remains on your device until you change or reset it, clear the app's data, or remove the application.

Advertising

The free version of XYCue contains advertising. Advertising is provided through third-party advertising services, including Google advertising services where applicable.

Advertising providers may process information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP-derived information, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and information needed for fraud prevention and ad delivery or measurement. The providers' handling of this information is governed by their own policies.

XYCue does not sell personal information.

Ad-free purchase

XYCue offers an optional one-time purchase that removes advertising. Purchases are processed by the applicable app-store platform, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store.

XYCue does not directly receive or store your full payment card details. The app and the applicable platform may process purchase or entitlement information needed to determine whether the ad-free upgrade has been purchased or restored.

Third-party services

XYCue may use platform or third-party services required for advertising, app distribution, in-app purchases, and related operational functionality. Third-party providers process information under their own privacy policies.

Location

XYCue's leveling functionality does not require you to provide your geographic location. Motion and orientation sensors are different from geographic location services. XYCue does not claim to collect precise GPS location.

User accounts

XYCue does not currently require or provide an XYCue user account. Therefore, there is no XYCue account profile that users need to delete.

This does not prevent third-party platform providers from retaining information according to their own policies.

Children's privacy

XYCue is a general-purpose utility application and is not designed specifically for children.

Data security

Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by the app. Third-party services are responsible for information handled through their systems. No method of storage or transmission can be promised to be completely secure.

Data retention

Locally stored application preferences generally remain until you reset them, clear application data, or uninstall XYCue. Third-party providers may retain information according to their own privacy and retention policies.

User choices

You may:

• change or reset XYCue settings;
• reset calibration where supported;
• clear application data through your operating system;
• uninstall XYCue;
• manage advertising and privacy choices through your Google, Apple, or device settings, where available; and
• purchase the optional ad-free upgrade.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date will be updated when material changes are published.
